General questions about the LiveLife Mobile Alarm Watch.

The LiveLife 4GX Mobile Alarm Watch will provide you and other family members’ peace of mind that when you are home or outdoors that help is just a press of a button away. When you press the SOS help button on the side of the watch a friendly voice will warn you that your emergency alarm sequence is underway. You’ll have 10 seconds to “click” the side SOS button before it sends a text message with your position on Google Maps to up to 6 emergency contacts and then starts calling each of the emergency contacts one by one. During the setup you can choose to have both calls and text messages during an emergency or only text messages. We have texts and calls set up as default.

No. You choose up to 6 emergency contacts which are usually trusted family members and friends. You can even include 911 as a contact if you wish. Because it does not require a monitoring center in an emergency there are no ongoing charges or monthly fees. You don’t have to use all 6 emergency contacts. You can use less if you wish.

It is ideal for seniors who may be living at home alone and remain active enough to be outdoors unaccompanied. It is also a great solution if a senior who lives at home, needs a medical alarm, but does not have a landline.

Besides seniors it is used by lone workers, workers who may need to contact security quickly and people with disabilities. Read our applications page for more details.

Yes. Because it works like a mobile phone it needs to be connected to the mobile phone network to work. As part of your purchase we normally install a SIM card that will pick the best available signal from either a Bell, Telus, Rogers, MTS, Tbaytel or Sasktel mobile tower in your location. We’ll check your address on coverage maps to double check that the mobile alarm watch will work well in your area. The mobile alarm watch comes with one year’s worth of unlimited emergency voice calls and emergency texts. As you move around Canada and even the USA the mobile alarm watch will always use the strongest signal from the closest Bell, Telus, Rogers, BellMTS, Tbaytel or Sasktel mobile network, or AT&T if you’re in the USA.

No. Most customers like us to install our unique SIM card which uses the best available 4GX signal from the closest Bell, Telus, Rogers, MTS, Tbaytel or Sasktel mobile towers. This option includes unlimited emergency voice calls and texts for a whole year. After the first year it will cost $75 for unlimited emergency calls and texts for year 2. Another great feature about this option is there’s no reason to worry that credit will run out when you need it most and there’s no need to check websites to check how many minutes you have remaining. There is no 911 monthly fee either. Family and friends can call the Mobile Alert Watch whenever they like and for as long as they like at no cost to the wearer of the watch.

Yes. The Mobile Watch has a built in microphone and speakerphone so the wearer can talk hands free through the watch. The sound is clear and high quality, as good as an modern smartphone. When a help call is answered it goes automatically into speakerphone mode. Pressing the help button again ends the call and the rest of the call sequence.

Facts about the LiveLife Mobile Alarm Watch.

The watch is a perfect size. It is 47mm tall x 47mm wide x 16mm tall. It weighs 64 grams with the wristband.

It weighs only 64 grams. By default we send your watch alarm to you with a classic style black silicon adjustable wristband. However, you can choose a velcro or black or brown leather wristband – it’s up to you.

The LiveLife Watch is waterproof, so you can wear it in the shower or the rain. It should not be immersed in water for prolonged periods.

The LiveLife Watch itself is black. You can choose though between a variety of different wristband colors and styles.

You can measure your steps.  You can change the style of the watch face through the settings screen. Believe it or not you can also tell the time and date!  Depending on which watch face you choose you can also see the battery life of your watch as well as how strong the mobile signal is in your location. By selecting a contact in the contacts section you can make an outgoing call to a contact. Although this isn’t meant for long, deep and meaningful conversations but rather for emergency calls. If we allowed you to use it like a regular mobile phone we wouldn’t be able to afford to offer unlimited emergency calls and texts for just $75 per year so we ask you to use this feature only when necessary. Calls into the alarm from family and friends don’t cost you anything however, long calls will use up the watch battery faster.

To activate the help calling sequence the side button must be pressed for a good second. A voice will announce that “Your mobile alarm has been activated. Click the SOS button to cancel”. This will happen for 10 seconds. To cancel, just click the side SOS button and the voice will stop. Otherwise, after 10 seconds the mobile alarm watch will start the emergency text and call sequence.

Yes. The Mobile Alarm watch operates on the mobile phone network just like a mobile phone does. A sim card must be installed, activated and a mobile phone number must be assigned to the pendant.

As part of the setup we will install a Sim card for you that picks the best available 4GX mobile signal out of the closest Bell, Telus, Rogers, MTS, Tbaytel or Sasktel mobile tower, depending on where you are at any given time in Canada. It includes the first years worth of emergency voice calls and texts and there is no need to keep an eye on remaining credit. We will supply you with the mobile phone number assigned to your pendant and that number will be clearly marked on your paperwork that comes with your Mobile Alarm Watch.

When you use our custom “Genius” Sim card that comes with unlimited emergency calls and texts for the first year, then about 11 months after your order we’ll send you an email and/or letter reminding you to “top up” with another $75 to cover unlimited emergency calls and texts for Year 2.

For the Mobile Alarm Watch to perform its help call, help text and GPS location functions the wearer must be in an area where there is sufficient 4GX, 4G or 3G mobile coverage. Before we complete your order and deliver your Mobile Alarm we will do a coverage test of the address where the pendant will be used. You can find out more about mobile coverage here.

The Live Life Mobile Alarm Watch requires an extensive setup that includes:
-Supply, activation, installation and testing of the mobile SIM card.
-Activation of one years worth of unlimited emergency voice calls and texts.
-Pre-programming of up to six emergency contacts and the help text message.
-Turning on of optional features like fall detection and geo-fencing (wandering).

Yes. You can easily change any of the contact numbers by sending a command in the form of a simple text message to the watch alarms mobile number. Simple instructions are included with the Mobile Alarm Watch Quick Start Guide and also on our Downloads page on our website.

Yes. Your emergency contacts can include any combination of mobiles or landlines. Please be aware though that if a landline number is one of the contact numbers it won’t receive the help text message or the GPS location on Google maps. That is why we recommend if possible that some or all contacts are mobile numbers. Some people’s landline numbers have text to voice on their message bank and so the text message may be converted to a voice message.

Yes. You can include 911 as one of the emergency contacts. Please be aware that 911 will not receive the help text message and the GPS location on Google Maps.

When 911 is included as a contact people often have the following calling sequence setup:

1. A family member: perhaps someone who is living close by or is the often the most available to help.
2-5. Another family member, friend, carer or neighbor.
6. 911 Emergency services.

The LiveLife Watch has a built-in fall detection feature that will detect a more violent fall – the kind of fall more likely to result in unconsciousness. It measures the impact, angle and speed of a fall in order to ascertain if a fall has probably occurred. When it detects a fall the pendant will vibrate and a voice will announce “Fall has been detected. Click the SOS button to cancel the fall alert” before sending out ‘fall down alert’ text messages to the programmed emergency contacts. To cancel the fall alert just click the side SOS button. Fall detection technology is not perfect and false alarms can take place. It can be turned off by sending a simple text command to the watch from a mobile phone.

Video – How automatic fall detection works

Yes. Fall detection is an optional feature that we can easily turn on during the setup up of your Mobile Alarm Watch. It is turned on by default. You can request to have fall detection turned off when we discuss your needs and order on the phone.

To turn it off you simply send a command to the watch via a text message from a mobile phone.

The Mobile Alarm Watch connects to Global Positioning Satellites to establish its exact location. This in-built feature allows the watch to be located on Google Maps. When the side SOS help button is pressed not only does the watch begin calling the emergency contacts, but it also sends each one a text message with a link to Google Maps showing the location of the wearer of the watch. Each of the contacts will then know the exact location to send help to.

Also anyone knowing the mobile phone number of the watch can send a simple, location command via text message to it and it will send a reply text automatically showing its location on Google Maps using the in-built GPS.

The watch contains a speaker that has clear, loud and high quality sound. When a help call is made and then answered the wearer will hear the other person and be able to talk to them like on a normal mobile phone call. You can adjust the volume by sending a text message to the mobile number of the watch. The instructions on how to do this are in the user manual.

Yes. The voice alerts that come from the Live Life Alarm are available in several languages. They are English (default), Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Italian and Greek. All these voice alerts are crystal clear and have been pre-recorded by native vocal artists.

Recharging the LiveLife Mobile Alarm Watch.

To recharge the watch you just place it into the charging station every 2 days. A voice will announce “Your mobile alarm is charging”. After 40 minutes or so you can remove the watch and start wearing it again.

It contains a rechargeable, Lithium-Ion battery just like a normal mobile phone. Because it does not have a screen it does not use as much power as a mobile phone. When delivered it we will be in the ‘power saving mode’ that gives you around 2 days of use if being worn all day before it needs to be recharged.

If you are concerned that the user of the Mobile Alarm Watch may be forgetful about recharging the watch by default we turn on a ‘Low battery warning’ feature that will send a text message to contact #1 when the battery falls below 10%. That way you can contact the wearer of the watch to ask them to recharge. If you wanted to you can actually call the watch to tell the wearer their battery is low. If the battery is allowed to run flat it will let out one last strong vibration and an audible noise before it turns off. You can easily turn off the low battery warning text messages by sending a simple SMS command to it from a mobile phone: LOW0

In this case our Refund & Returns policy applies.
